Some of you might have noticed a familiar name in Jon Callard’s team to face Hull this weekend. Ollie Fox is named in the starting side and is going to pull on a Leeds shirt for the first time since leaving the club towards the end of the 2018/19 season.
Normanton lad Ollie signed for Bath where he made 19 appearances over two seasons. He then moved to Ealing Trailfinders for the start of this season to help them chase their Premiership ambitions. Ollie has joined Leeds Tykes on loan from the London club. About his return up north, Ollie said: "I’m really excited and appreciative to be able to pull a Leeds shirt back on. Coming back to the club that gave me my first opportunity is special. It’s nice to see some familiar and new faces also representing the club. I’m looking forward to getting out there on Saturday."
The Tykes face a tough Yorkshire derby this weekend in the form of Hull RUFC who have recently been promoted into the league and are looking for their first win of the season. Hull will be looking towards their big pack and dangerous back three to put their mark on the game while the Tykes will be hoping that Fox can increase the pace of the game and get the Leeds machine firing.
Director of Rugby, Jon Callard, had this to say "What a fantastic bonus for Leeds Tykes as we welcome one of its favorite sons back to the club. The club is buzzing with Ollie returning to get some much-needed game time, it is also a great boost to Kit and Callum as they have some Premiership experience to feed off. I am excited for Ollie!"
See Ollie and the rest of the Tykes in action this Saturday at Hull RUFC where it’s a 14:0 kick-off. Our next home game is on Saturday 22 October with a 15:00 start when we face Bishop’s Stortford.
