Academy Graduates

Scott Armstrong, 2007-10

Winger Scott Armstrong joined Leeds Carnegie from Vale of Lune RUFC as a teenager and before making the breakthrough to the senior team was part of the Development XV that captured the Yorkshire Cup in 2006. He made his first team debut the following season and became a regular in the side during the 2008-09 Championship winning season. In 2007 he represented Leeds Carnegie and Leeds Met for England Universities against Ireland in Dublin and the Combined Services U23 team at Twickenham and in 2006 claimed the National Colt 7’s Cup in the Sevens tournament.

Alex Ball, 2009-2010

Barnsley born, Alex Ball joined the Leeds Academy in 2007 and in 2009 helped the U19 side defeat Beverley in the Yorkshire Cup final, before making his team debut the same year against Sale Sharks in the Anglo Welsh Cup. Alex played his junior rugby with Stocksbridge RUFC and Sandal RUFC and represented Yorkshire and the England Academy.

Joe Barker, 2010-2014

Wakefield born, Joe

Dominic Barrow, 2010-2013

Dominic was previously with Stocksbridge, where he played from the age of nine to 11 before switching to the Barnsley club from 2005-08. He subsequently joined Leeds Carnegie for whom he made his A team debut against RGC 1404, the new North Wales regional side. He made his Leeds Carnegie debut in the 2010-11 season against Llanelli in the LV Cup. He marked his arrival on the international scene with the opening try against Australia in the England U18’s 30-28 win at Heywood Road in 2009. After captaining England U16, he toured South Africa with the U18 squad in 2009 and appeared against Boland and Western Province, having also won representative honours for Yorkshire U15 and U16 and the North in the older age group.

Richard Beck, 2008-2018

Richard made his breakthrough to the senior team during the 2009-10 season and was one of 13 players from the club’s Academy system to feature in the famous win over Leicester Tigers in the LV=Cup.

Joe Bedford, 2001-2002, 2007-2010

Tom Biggs, 2004-2009

Tom Biggs is one of the most successful products of the Leeds Academy. He emerged through the Academy system to make his debut in 2004 and did not look back, becoming the team’s highest try scorer in the club’s history with 51. Tom won international recognition with England 7’s and England Saxons during his time at Leeds before leaving the club in 2009 to join Newcastle Falcons.

Alex Black, 2010-2011

Alex is a former Harrogate and Ripon, who won representative honours with Scotland at U17 and U18 level before making his first team debut in the Amlin Challenge Cup against Bucharest in the 2010-11 season.

Lewis Boyce, 2007-09

Blin.

Andy Boyde, 2007-09

Blindside flanker Andy Boyde joined the Leeds Academy team in the 2004-05 season and made his first team debut during the 2007-08 season against his hometown club Bristol. In 2006 he played in the side who defeated Wharfedale 22-11 to capture the Yorkshire Cup and at the beginning of the 2006-07 season he was promoted to the senior squad where he continued his development. Andy left the club at the end of that season having made 18 appearances for the team.

Luther Burrell, 2006-2011

Huddersfield born centre Luther Burrell made his first team debut against Pertemps Bees in the 2006-07 season, after excelling in the Academy set up. In the 2007-08 season he once again broke through to the first team squad, making his Guinness Premiership debut against Saracens. Alongside his development with the first team Luther also played a pivotal role in the Academy team. Luther has also experienced playing Rugby League and before joining his local Rugby Union side spent two years with Huddersfield RL.

Danny Care, 2004-06

One of the big success stories of the Leeds Academy, Danny Care is now one of the most high profile players in English Rugby as a regular in the England national team. Danny joined the Leeds Academy whilst still at school in Otley, he won the National Colts cup in 2004 with the club before breaking through to the first team during the 2004-05 season against Valladolid in the European Shield. The 2005-06 season saw Danny develop into one of the most exciting players at the club, bringing him to the attention of many rival clubs and following Leeds’ relegation in the 2005-06 season he left the club after making 12 first team appearances, to join Harlequins. Danny has gone onto represent England with whom he is now an established member of the Elite Player squad. Whilst at Leeds Danny represented England U18 and U19, helping them to their then best ever finish in the IRB U19 World Championship, where he scored a try in England’s third/fourth play off with France to secure a third place.

Mark Chester, 2001-04

Fly half Mark Chester was one of the first recruits to the Leeds Academy and in 2003 was named Young Player of the Year. He forced his way into first team contention during the 2003-04 season, but was only able to make one appearance for the club, which came against London Wasps. Mark represented Yorkshire from an early age and was part of the Yorkshire Terriers Rugby Union tour to South America in 2003. When he left the club in 2004 Mark joined Harrogate where he made 40 appearances before joining Morley in 2006.

Calum Clark, 2007-10

Calum Clark became the youngest forward to ever play in the Guinness Premiership, when he made his Leeds debut against Saracens aged just 19. He was 14 when he joined the club and after progressing through the Academy ranks made 23 appearances in his debut season. He was twice named Young Player of the Year and helped the team achieve promotion to the Guinness Premiership during the 2008-09 season. Calum first earned international recognition with England U20 and was part of the England side who made it through to IRB U20 World Championship final. In 2009 he was named captain of the England U20 side for the U20 Six Nations and IRB Toshiba Junior World Championship.

Ian Clarke, 2001-03

Whilst playing for the Leeds Academy Ian Clarke was identified as an exceptional talent. He signed from Manchester and whilst at Headingley Carnegie he played for England at U19 and U21 level. He left the club in 2003 season joining Otley before moving onto Premiership club London Wasps.

James Craig, 2010-2011

econd Rower James Craig was the 2006-07 Academy Player of the season, but his progress at the club suffered a set back due to injuries and he did not make his first team debut until the 2010-11 season, when he played against Bucharest in the Amlin Challenge Cup. Before joining Leeds Carnegie James played for Beverley RUFC and also represented England at U16 and U18 level and was part of the side who won the U18 AER.

Jordan Crane, 2004-07

The back rower joined the Academy in 2004 and made his debut aged just 18 for Leeds against Grenoble. He made the step up to the first team in ease, indicating a promising future in the game. He made a total of 28 appearances for the club in which he scored 5 tries, before leaving to Leicester Tigers following Leeds’ relegation at the end of the 2005-06 season. Whilst at Leeds Jordan represented England at U18 level and captained the England schools team. In 2005 he captained England in the IRB Under 19 Championship. Since joining Leicester Jordan has won full international honours with England after helping Leicester to the Guinness Premiership title scoring the only try in the 2008-09 final.

Michael Cusack, 2003-08 and 2016-2018

Michael spent 5 seasons in the first team at Leeds, having getting his break from the Academy in the 2003-04 season, aged 18. He twice helped the team gain promotion to the Guinness Premiership and made a total of 41 appearances for the club. He left the club at the end of the 2007-08 to join his hometown club Doncaster. He represented Yorkshire at U16 and U18 level and played for England at U18, U19 and in 2005 played in the U21 World Championship.

Gareth Denman, 2009-12

In 2009 Gareth was part of the Academy side who clinched the Yorkshire Cup and less than a year later he was called up to make his senior debut against Sale Sharks in the Anglo Welsh Cup. A former pupil of Prince Henry’s in Otley he representative honours with Yorkshire.

Oli Denton, 2010-12

Oli made his debut for Leeds Carnegie in the 2010-11 season against Bucharest in the Amlin Challenge Cup after impressing in the Academy and on loan with Otley. An experienced 7’splayer in 2008 he was part of the side who won the Hymers 7’s, Ampleforth 7’s and Mount St Mary’s 7’s.

Tom Denton, 2008-12

Second Rower Tom Denton made his debut on the opening day of the 2008-09 season against Nottingham and went onto make a further three appearances. In 2006 Tom was part of the Leeds Development XV who captured the Yorkshire Cup and he followed this up with another impressive campaign when he was named Academy player of the Year. Tom gained representative honours with England at U18 level, whom he won the AER tournament with.

David Doherty, 2004-06, 2012-2016

Local born David Doherty originally joined the club on a dual code contract but never made a first team appearance for the Rhinos, instead making his Leeds Tykes debut in 2004 aged 17, to become the youngest ever player to play in the Premiership. Doherty, who captained England U18 Clubs, made a bigger impact the following season when he scored a try to secure Leeds’ place in their first ever Cup final at Twickenham. He made a total of 25 appearances for the side and scored 7 tries before leaving the club in 2006 to join London Wasps. In 2005 David represented England U19 in the Six Nations tournament.

Matt Duncombe, 1998-99

Fly half Matt Duncombe was one of the first players to emerge through the club’s youth system, making his debut in the 1998-99 season against Orrell, marking the occasion with a drop goal in the 13-11 win. With competition from fellow Academy product Tom Rhodes as well asd Sateki Tuipulotu competition for the fly half spot was strong and Matt was only able to make a further 2 appearances for the club, 1 in the starting line up.

Jon Feeley, 1998-00

Winger Jon Feeley made his Leeds debut in the 1998-99 season. He made 8 appearances for the club, 5 in the starting line up and registered 4 tries. He helped the team to a second placed League One finish in his final season in the club, making 15 appearances and scored 7 tries. After leaving Leeds he went on to play for Sedgley Park, Wakefield and Rotherham.

Joe Ford, 2009-10, 2011-13, 2016-2017 and 2019-2020

Joe joined the Leeds Carnegie Academy from Rishworth School and has established himself as one of the most accomplished players in the Leeds ranks. He was part of the Leeds side who won the Yorkshire Cup in 2009 and the following season made an impressive first team debut, scoring 18 of his sides 28 points in their win over Leicester Tigers in the Anglo Welsh Cup. Joe has represented Yorkshire and England up to U18 level, helping the England U18 side secure third place in the AER Championship in 2008. Joe left Leeds in 2010 to join Northampton but returned to the club the following season.

Scott Freer, 2008 – 2014

A former Prince Henry’s pupil, Scott joined the Leeds Academy from Moortown RUFC and was named Most Improved Player in the Academy during the 2006-07 season. He made his first team debut against Manchester during the team’s successful National One campaign. Scott has represented Yorkshire and England at U18 and U19 level and won the AER Under 18 title with England.

Max Green, 2015-17

A product of Woodhouse Grove, Max played scrum half for England U20 winning the U20 IRB World Championships at Manchester in June 2016. He joined Bath in 2018.

Adam Greendale, 2008-10

Adam is the first player to come the entire way through the Leeds Academy structure and since joining Leeds, aged 14, and made his first team appearance against Bath in the quarter finals of the ERC Challenge Cup, aged 22. Adam captained England at Under 16 level and led them to success in their unbeaten run under his leadership and he then earned a place on the Junior National Academy. In 2005 he was selected for the England U19 squad that took on Australia Schools and the following year he helped England U19 to a third place finish in the IRB World Championships.

Christian Georgiou, 2011-2016

Halifax born full back Christian Georgiou joined the Leeds Carnegie Academy in 2005 and was part of the Leeds Development side who won the Yorkshire Cup in the 2008-09 season. He made his first team debut in the 2011-12 season against Currie in the B&I Cup and then made his first League appearance against Nottingham.

Craig Hampson, 2010-2014

London born scrum half Craig Hampson joined Leeds in 2006 and in 2009 was part of the side who claimed victory over Beverley in the final of the Yorkshire Cup. Before joining Leeds Carnegie Craig played for Harrogate and Ashville College. He has won representative honours with England A at U16 level and has also played for the U18 England AER side.

Harry Hannan, 2011-2012

Leeds born hooker Harry Hannan signed for Leeds in 2006 and has made outstanding progress in the Leeds Academy that led to him making his first team debut during the 2010-11 season against Northampton Saints in the final game of the season and was promoted to the senior squad at the start of the next campaign.

Chris Hughes, 2006-08

A product of the Leeds Academy, Chris made a try scoring debut against Moseley during the 2006-07 promotion winning season. A year earlier he had been part of the Development XV who won the Yorkshire Senior Cup in 2006. In his final season at Leeds he continued to play a key role in the Leeds Carnegie A side but with strong competition for places he was unable to break through to the first team and the young winger left the club at the end of the season. Prior to joining Leeds Carnegie Chris played for Driffield RUFC and he has also represented England at U16 level.

Paul Keys, 2000-01

Keys emerged from the Leeds Academy season in the 2000-01 season and during that promotion winning campaign he made 11 appearances at replacement, although he was unable to establish a regular first team place with competition in the hooking spot from Mark Luffman and Rob Rawlinson. He left the club at the end of that season and signed for Sedgley Park, where he spent 7 seasons before joining Rossendale in 2008.

Chris Kendra, 2000-02

Scrum Half Chris Kendra, made his first team debut in the 2000-01 season and went onto make 15 appearances and score 2 tries over that promotion winning campaign. The following season, with competition from Scott Benton and John O’Reilly, his first team appearances were limited to just 3 starts, 2 of which came in the Guinness Premiership against Harlequins and London Wasps. He spent a short spell with rugby league side Rochdale Hornets before switching codes once again to join Hull RUFC.

Alex Lozowski 2012-2014

Full back, Alex Lozowski, made his Leeds Carnegie debut against Pontypridd in the British and Irish Cup during the 2012-13 season, aged 19. He is the son of former England and Wasps centre Rob and previously played for the Wasps Academy.

Peter Lucock 2011-2018

Lucock holds a unique position in the club’s history as the only player to ever come from the club mini rugby section when it used to be run out of Chandos Park at the formation of the club. A Leeds-lad, Lucock made his Leeds Carnegie debut against Rotherham in 2011, having been promoted to the senior squad ahead of the Championship season.

Phil Murphy, 2000-03 and 2008-10

Phil originally came through the Academy ranks and played alongside Tom Palmer at the lower levels at Leeds. He always stood out in the Academy and latterly Development sides and made his debut in at the back end if the 1999-2000 campaign. He left Leeds to join Worcester at the end of the 2003-04 season having played 60 games for the club, but returned at the start of the 2008-09 campaign to help the team secure promotion back to the Guinness Premiership.

Kearnan Myall, 2005-2011

Kearnan joined the Leeds Academy aged just 15 and after showing great promise in the junior sides eventually broke through to the first team where he quickly established himself as a regular. He has been a big part of Leeds Carnegie’s success winning the National Colts Cup in 2004 and the Yorkshire Cup in 2006. The following season he was at the heart of the Championship winning squad and was named Supporter’s Player of the Season. Kearnan was a member of the England U18 Clubs squad which played in the home nations tournament in Belfast in 2004. He previously played at Huddersfield YMCA and Holmfirth.

Phil Nilsen, 2006-2018

Phil is a product of the successful Leeds Academy and part of the teams who won the National Colts Final in 2005 and the Yorkshire Senior Cup. He was named in Stuart Lancaster’s first senior squad ahead of the 2006-07 season and made his debut for the club in the high pressure game against Cornish Pirates. In the 2008-09 Championship winning season he made 19 appearances. Phil previously played for Trafford and has representative honours with Yorkshire 20s, winning the U20’s County Championship.

Hefin O’Hare, 1998-00

Welsh born Hefin O’Hare began his career in the 15 man code with Leeds and made his debut during the 1998-99 season and quickly established himself as a first team regular, making 18 starts and one replacement appearance. Hefin could play at either centre or on the wing and the following season he continued his progression and made a further 15 appearances. He got his first taste of rugby league with sister club Leeds Rhinos before signing for Super League outfit Huddersfield Giants. Born in Wrexham Hefin represented Wales at U21 level and also represented his county in rugby league. He returned to play rugby union with Glasgow Warriors and went on to play for Scotland in the IRB Sevens World Series.

Tom Palmer, 1998-06

Tom first came to Leeds to begin a University degree but was soon spotted by director of rugby Phil Davies, at his first game playing for the University. Tom played for Leeds Tykes under 19s during his first year of study, and then decided to change to part-time study when he was taken into the first team squad in September 1998. Tom made his debut against Blackheath in 1998 and went onto captain the club and make 188 appearances for the club. He was part of the side who clinched promotion to the Premiership for the first time in the club’s history and was in the starting line up for the game against Bath when Leeds secured their first ever piece of silverware in the Powergen Cup. Tom left the club at the end of the 2005-06 season to join London Wasps with whom he won the Heineken Cup before joining French side Stade Francais. Tom earned a place in the England A squad whilst still playing in National Division One with Leeds.

Danny Paul, 2004-12

Phil Davies called Danny up to make his debut in the 2004 in the European fixture against Valladolid after making a big impression in the A team. In 2006 he the won the Yorkshire Cup with the Academy and the following season was promoted to the senior squad. He twice helped the team gain promotion to the Guinness Premiership. A former Leo’s amateur he won representative honours with England U18 clubs.

Pierce Phillips, 2012-13

The second rower was part of the Newcastle Academy set up before joining Leeds, when he moved to the City for University. He made his debut during the 2012-13 season in the B&I Cup against Pontypridd and made a further seven appearances in his only season in the first team.

Tom Rhodes, 1998-99

Fly half Tom Rhodes spent one season in the Leeds first team and made an impressive 16 first team starts, despite fierce competition for the number ten shirt from Colin Stephens and Sateki Tuipulotu. After leaving Leeds he went onto play for Wakefield and Bradford & Bingley.

Alex Rieder, 2011-12

Back Rower, Alex Rieder, joined Leeds Carnegie in 2009 from North Ribblesdale. He had represented Yorkshire from U15 to U20 and won the County Championship with North Ribblesdale and the Yorkshire Cup with Leeds Carnegie in 2009. He made his debut in the B&I Cup against Rotherham and made a further seven appearances before leaving the club at the end of the season.

Andy Rock, 2005-08

Andy was one of the star performers for the Academy side before being promoted to the senior squad in the 2006-07 season. With the Academy he won the Yorkshire Cup in 2006, a year after making his first team debut in the Powergen Cup against Newcastle. He was named in the starting line up for the first eight games for Leeds Carnegie’s 2006-07 National One campaign but he was unable to break through into the side the following season and left the club in 2008 having made ten appearances for the club.

Tom Rock, 2002-08

Tom came through the Leeds Academy set up and made his first team debut back in 2002. A knee injury in 2004 halted his progress at the club and after he was unable to make a permanent breakthrough and joined Otley on loan during the 2005-06 season. Stuart Lancaster, brought Tom back to the club to help their team in their bid for promotion during the 2006-07 season. In total Tom made appearances for the club before leaving at the end of the 2007-08 season. Whilst with Leeds Tom earned representative honours with England U19. Tom went onto become Director of Rugby at Blaydon RFC.

Jacob Rowan, 2009-2014

An England U18 international Jacob emerged from the Academy system in 2009 to make a try scoring debut in the EDF Energy Cup game against Dings Crusaders and earned a place in the full time squad the following season, where he continued with his progression, making handful of appearances for the first team on their return to the Guinness Premiership.

Ollie Stedman, 2010-12, 2016 - 2018

Ollie joined Leeds Carnegie in 2008 and a year later was part of the Academy side who secured the Yorkshire Cup with victory over Beverley in the Final. He played his early rugby for Percy Park and Westoe and in 2008 and 2009 represented England at U18 level.

Sam Stitcher, 2006-08

Sam joined Leeds in the 2005-06 season after moving north to attend university. He made his first team debut on the final day of that season against Newcastle Falcons. The following season he was rewarded for his consistent efforts in the A team with a place in Stuart Lancaster’s first team squad. He was the captain of Leeds Development XV side who captured the Yorkshire Cup with victory against Wharfedale. He first won representative honours in 2003 when he was selected to play for England U16 and later played for the U18’s and U19’s. Sam left the club at the end of the 2007-08 season, having made appearances.

Matthew Stockdale, 2003-04

Flanker Matthew Stockdale broke into the Leeds first team during the 2003-04 season, making one replacement appearance. With strong competition in the side Matthew was unable to secure a regular first team spot and left the club at the end of the season. After leaving Leeds Matthew went onto play for Otley.

Phil Swainston, 2008-12

The Harrogate Grammar School pupil joined Leeds Carnegie in 2006 and marked his debut for the first team with a try in the EDF Energy National Trophy win against Birmingham Solihull and he capped off a fine year by helping the Lees U19 win the Yorkshire Cup against Beverley. Phil was part of the England U18 side who claimed third place in the AER European Under-18 Championships back in 2006 and was named in the England U20 squad at the start of the 2009-10 season.

Mark Tampin, 2011-13

Mark joined Leeds Carnegie in 2010 having previously played for Richmond RFC and London Wasps. He was promoted to the first team squad ahead of the 2010-11 season and made his debut in the British and Irish Cup against Rotherham and made a further appearance against Doncaster in the same competition. During the 2012-13 season he played three times, but left the club during the campaign.

James Tiffany, 1999-01

Wakefield flanker James Tiffany joined the Leeds Academy set up from Wakefield and went onto make 9 appearances for the club before leaving in 2001. In his junior rugby he represented Yorkshire at U17 and U19 level.

Adam Thornton, 2000-01

Adam made his sole first team appearance for Leeds in the 2000-01 promotion winning season.

James Tyson, 2011-13

An openside flanker from Beverley who was part of the Leeds Carnegie Academy from 2005 and had represented Yorkshire at U16s, U18s and U20s level. He made his debut against Pontypridd in the B&I Cup during the 2011-12 season and made one more appearance for the club the following season against the same opposition.

Richard Vasey, 2005-08

Richard was part of the Leeds Carnegie Development XV side who won the Yorkshire Senior Cup, adding a vital conversion in the win over Wharfedale. In his formative years with the club he earned a reputation as one of the brightest prospects in the Academy system and he initially broke into the Leeds first team during the 2005-06 season, making his first appearance off the bench against Newcastle Falcons in the Powergen Cup. When his Academy boss Stuart Lancaster was appointed the club’s Director of Rugby in 2006, he put faith in the young fly half by promoting him to the first team. He made an impressive start to his senior career and quickly became an established member of the side. In total notched up 46 points in 27 appearances. During his time at Leeds he represented England Students.

Rob Vickerman, 2005-09 and 2013-2015

Rob joined Leeds in 2001 and was developed through the club’s Academy system. He was identified as a prospect for the future and one of the highlights of his time in the Academy was winning the National Colts Cup in 2004. He made his senior debut in the 2005-06 season, against Llanelli Scarlets in the Powergen Cup. Rob left the club at the end of the 2008-09 season to join Newcastle Falcons, having helped the team secure promotion back to the Premiership and making a total of 53 appearances and scoring 11 tries. During his time at Leeds Rob represented England U16’s Schools before graduating to England U19 for the World Championships in South Africa in 2004. In 2005 Rob played for England in the IRB Paris Sevens and during the 2008-09 season was part of the England Sevens side who won the Wellington Sevens. He returned to the club in 2013 for a two season spell at the club, before injury ended his playing career.

Peter Wackett, 2005-11

Full back Wackett is originally from Harrogate and studied at St Peters in York. He made his first team debut against Manchester and marked the occasion with two tries in the 57-0 win at Headingley Carnegie. Whilst still at school Peter was part of the side who won the Daily Mail U15s Cup. He has representative honours for England at U16 and U18 level.

Chris Walker, 2010-2018

Chris joined the club in 2005 and was part of the side who clinched the Yorkshire Cup in 2009 with victory over Beverley. He made his debut in the LV= Cup game against Llanelli in the 2010-11 season. His amateur club was North Ribblesdale and he has won representative honours with England U16s and U18.

Jack Walker, 20-2017

Jack is younger brother of Chris captained England U20 in his 3rd year at that age group when they won the IRB U20 World Championship at Manchester in June 2016. He also became the youngest ever captain of the club at the age of 18. He joined Bath in 2018

George Warner, 2008-10

Bedford born George Warner has been with the Leeds Carnegie Academy since 2008 and quickly established himself as a regular in the U19’s side in his first season. He was called up to make his debut in the Anglo Welsh Cup and helped the team to a win over Leicester Tigers. George has represented Midlands U18 in 2007 and East Midlands 16 and 18’s and before joining Leeds he played for Ampthill RFC and Northampton Saints.

Dan White, 2005-12

Scrum half Dan White joined Leeds Carnegie in 2006 and is yet another successful graduate of Hymers College in Hull to make it into the Leeds ranks, following in the footsteps of Tom Biggs and Rob Vickerman. After impressing the Leeds Carnegie coaches with his performances for the Academy, Dan was given the chance to prove himself in the first team and was given his debut against Manchester at Headingley Carnegie. In 2007 Dan gained representative honours with England U18.

Tom Whittaker, 2006-08

Tom made his Leeds Carnegie debut against Doncaster Knights during the 2006-07 season and made one more appearance off the bench that season. Tom was fundamental in the Academy’s success in the Yorkshire Cup in the 2005-06 season, scoring the only try in the final and two penalties. Although he continued to show promise in the Academy Tom was unable to make the permanent breakthrough to the senior squad and left at the end of the 2007-08 season. Tom gained representative honours with Yorkshire from U15’s to full senior level.

Curtis Wilson, 2011-13

London born winger, Curtis Wilson, joined Leeds Carnegie in 2008 from amateur club Abbeydale and was promoted to the senior squad ahead of the 2011-12 season. He made his debut in the first game of the season against London Welsh and made a further four appearances in his first season.

Simon Worrall, 2006-07

Simon joined Leeds Carengie’s Academy from Thornesians in Doncaster and captained Leeds Carnegie U19 side that won the National Colts Cup Final in 2004. He made two appearances for the first team during the 2006-07 season before switching codes to play rugby league with Leeds Rhinos. As a junior he represented Yorkshire at U15, U16 and U18 as well as playing for England U16 and U18 schools.

Max Wright, 20-2017

Centre Max was one of the five club playrers in the 28 man squad that won the IRB U20 World Championship at Manchester in 2016. He joined Bath in 2018.

Cameron Zeiss, 2011-2012

Cameron joined Leeds Carnegie in 2009 and he was promoted to the first team ahead of the 2011-12 season. He regularly featured for the A team and was named Academy Player of the Year for the 2009-10 season. He made his first team debut against Pontypridd in the B&I Cup and made his first league appearance against Nottingham
