Leeds Tykes window stickers are now available to collect at home games. A donation of £2 is encouraged for each sticker. Every £2 donated will pay to produce a children's Leeds Tykes booklet that will be given free to youngsters to engage them with rugby and the Tykes. The stickers will be available from Christine who will be in the bar area before the game, at half-time and after the final whistle.
As part of the Leeds Tykes community programme, we’re welcoming juniors from teams who we've invited to play at half-time during Leeds Tykes game against Rosslyn Park at Headingley Stadium on Saturday 8 January. We want enough donations from the window stickers for every child who plays at half-time to receive a Leeds Tykes booklet.
The booklet is to encourage children and their parents to attend Tykes games. In it there is space for the youngsters to fill in the names of Tykes and opposition players from 1-20 for all the games they watch. Players will feature in the booklet so the children can create a connection and interaction by seeing them on the pitch and then meeting and speaking to them after the final whistle.
For any young person that manages to fill in five team sheets, proving they have been to five Leeds Tykes’ home games they will receive a free replica Leeds Tykes playing shirt.
Hopefully, some of the youngsters will be inspired to have a lifelong connection to rugby be that playing, coaching, refing, volunteering or supporting.
