Leeds Tykes are appalled and sorry to hear reports that Luther Burrell has had to experience racial abuse during some of his times playing rugby union. Luther began his career with the club in 2006 and after he left in 2010 he joined Sale Sharks and Northampton Saints that also led to 15 appearances for England. We are firmly of the belief that racism has no place at all at Leeds Tykes, in rugby union or in society more generally. We would be happy to work with the RFU to help eradicate any forms of racism in our sport.
